We launch on the first Saturday of every month at the Waterfalls Discharge Basin on Las Cruces’s East Mesa.
If you use google to find directions to the site, the directions will end with you needing to walk from Cortez Dr. There is actually a dirt road you can take there; we put a sign at the turn to help visitors find it.

Our launches are FAA Class 1 (rockets may contain no more than 125 grams (4.4 ounces) of propellant; are made of paper, wood, or breakable plastic; contain no substantial metal parts; and weigh no more than 1,500 grams (53 ounces) including the propellant) — in other words, ordinary low- and mid-power model rockets. In addition, due to the size of our field and our proximity to White Sands Missile Range, we limit ourselves to an expected altitude of 3000 feet above ground level.
We have a twelve volt launch control system, and the following rods and rails:
Rods
| 1/8″ | 3′, 4′ |
| 3/16″ | 3′, 4′ |
| 1/4″ | 4′, 4 1/2′, 6′ |

You are also welcome to bring your own controller and/or pad.
We do not require club membership, nor charge a range fee. Come on out!
